The truth symbolizes goodness, faith, honesty, sincerity and integrity character. Be faithful to your own self is like being in harmony with reality, in harmony with nature. It's like being reconciled to things as they are and become one with the universe. Unfortunately, our hectic lifestyles, peer pressure, small pleasures, and our endless passion for money has destroyed the basic values of truth. Many of us believe in what we like to think and do what we feel is based on these beliefs, even though our thoughts and actions are miles away from the truth.
And to tell you the truth, we have ceased to be honest with ourselves.
Many of us live in a world polluted with ignorance, greed and falsehoods. And although we may not realize it, our soul to get a little choked up with these untruths, all that pseudo-conversation, and that jazzy false pride – always looking for accolades in the eyes of others, while the remaining dishonest and untrue to themselves. Think about it: Are you not feel it is time that we turned back and chipped in to create a positive, vibrant and peaceful world that is not fragmented by narrow thoughts?
Well, charity always begins at home, so let us sit down together and analyze how are true to ourselves will benefit us.
Being true to yourself: How it helps?
Being truthful and sincere to yourself can make you to a better person. And here is how it will help you:
1. When you're true to yourself, your mind will have all toughened up. Most importantly, it has nothing to fear not to bend. This is because when you're true to yourself, you always do things that are just and right. And when you do everything fair and square, you have nothing to fear. Thus, to be faithful to your own self makes you fearless.
2. Being true to yourself gives you a good feeling. You look at people and things without prejudice, and do unto them what you feel is right and not what they should do unto you. These works fill you up with satisfaction, confidence and self-esteem, which in turn makes you love head high. You are not just the first among equals – you are too far beyond being number one.
3. When you're true to yourself, you automatically start telling the truth – the whole time. The kind you win respect from others – they start to look up to you and stick with every word you say.
4. Let us now take a trivial example from everyday life: Suppose your neighbor just bought a smart, new sports utility vehicle (SUV), and let us assume that you are not as good as he is and can not afford to buy an SUV. In this situation, if you're true to yourself you can just go ahead and borrow money to get an equally good car just because envy is gnawing at your soul. But if you're true to yourself, you will not worry about your neighbor's new car and you will just go on with life as it was, because you know that you can not afford a new car and if you have borrowed money for it and you'll be stuck neck-deep in debt. So what say you? – It tells you to be honest with yourself, will make you sober and thinking logically. And above all, you stick to reality, not giving in to pressure, and in the process, not putting yourself in difficult situations.
5. Be true to yourself kind of cleanses your mind and rids it of the heap of psychological junk that has collected over the years. You'll be more cautious and this once again endears you to your family. The emotional bond you share with those who only become stronger hugs and your entire family in a warm embrace.
6. Sincere with yourself, do you believe in yourself, and you are no longer afraid of rejection.
7. You do not fear the risk of rejection when you know you are true to yourself. And it is because the rejection anxiety, tension and other such associated feelings cease to matter in normal life.
8. Finally, you can improve your health, because you're away from fear, greed, jealousy, fear, anxiety, disgust and prejudice. Scientific studies have revealed that chronic negative thoughts have a tendency to switch permanently something in your body – perhaps at the cellular level or even genetic level – it makes you more susceptible to a variety of diseases. You do not have any reason to to hate yourself, your family loves you, you're happy and in line with what you do, you do not feel guilty – and that is all that ultimately matters in life.
Conclusion
Jim Davis once said that "the truth will set you free, but will only make you unhappy." And he's right. Way the truth is strewn with thorns – but after the first few steps, these thorns will cease to matter – in fact, they are gone with the wind. So go ahead and be true to yourself because the truth will not hurt you, it will awaken your soul. Just try it.

Thorn $11.18 Any pianist who can attract the likes of drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist Drew Gress as part of a trio, and is joined by chic saxophonist Chris Potter on a few tracks, must have something going for him. Antonio Faraò swings confidently on this set of original compositions, and although his playing is a tad derivative, there is no doubting his talent. The pianist fits in comfortably with his all-star colleagues, leaving little question that he has the ability to ride with the giants. His two-handed facility finds him equally at home with varied tempos and rhythmically challenging phrases. On the obstacle course he calls “Arabesco,” the pianist marches forward, backtracks, and then continues his progression, following a scintillating improvisation by the often dazzling Chris Potter. On “B. E.,” Faraò plays it pretty and gentle, but not too sweet. Unlike some Italian jazz modernists, Faraò does not add humor to the mix, and his compositions and solos do not covertly display the influences of his native land. Rather, his is a universal language that is as at home in Rome, Italy, as in New York City.
