Most people are simply not aware of how quickly and how far we have come as a collective consciousness, let alone how fast things are set to exponentially explode in the coming year. Like the "Frog in the kettle," we are apparently immune to the increased heat as the water heads to the boil. In the last 50-75 years there has been so much progress is the understanding of human consciousness and a renaissance throughout the Jungian concept of collective unconsciousness.
We're really on the way to large and the revolutionary leap in consciousness. Are you game?
What was once the edge has now been deemed acceptable. I speak on the topic, and concepts such as: hypnosis, psychotherapy, rebirthing, Eastern mysticism, Spiritual shamanism, primal therapy, biofeedback, sensory deprivation, dream state, NDE, OBE, and many more. Who's to say what is true what is wrong. They are all parts of a very large puzzle.
We have no idea what great progress we are seeing in human consciousness. But NDE (near death experiences) and thanatology advance opens up worlds of possibilities. The cumulative effect of which we have been and are on their way, will totally redefine life as we know it in a few year.
Albert Einstein was a genius in so many ways, but his view of the universe was so small compared to what we know today. Einstein developed relativity, but he saw the universe as static, unchanging. His view was that the universe was a big cloud of stars. How many he can not speculate.
What we know today is that our solar system is a small part of the Milky Way galaxy, which is just one of the fifty billion galaxies: each with one hundred billion stars or more. We also know that the universe is static but alive and expanding. But here's the big one. Our planet, our galaxy and our universe is ALIVE-conscious.
Giorgio de Santillana, in his great book, Hamlet's Mill said: "Man is able to fit into the concepts of today's astrophysics short of schizophrenia. Modern man faces unthinkable. Archaic man, however, kept a firm grip about the potential of design in his cosmos, an order of time and an eschatology that made impact on him and reserved a fate for his soul. Yet it was an extremely comprehensive theory, without concessions to merely human feelings. It also magnified the mind than bearable, but without destroying man's role in the cosmos. "
We are up and running. If only we knew how!

Galaxy Quest [Blu-ray] $18.39 A team of intrepid adventurers travels through the outer reaches of the galaxy, each week finding excitement and adventure on Galaxy Quest! Or at least that’s the way it was in the mid-1970s, when brave if reckless Captain Peter Quincy Taggart, lovely Lieutenant Tawny Madison, and inscrutable alien Dr. Lazarus were the leaders of an interstellar law enforcement team on the TV series of that name. Twenty years later, the show is still in reruns, and Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen), Gwen DeMarco (Sigourney Weaver), and Alexander Dane (Alan Rickman) prop up their sagging careers by making appearances at sci-fi conventions, where they grudgingly shake hands and give autographs for the show’s socially inept following. However, it turns out that nerdy sci-fi fans aren’t the only ones watching: somewhere in another solar system, a group of alien rebels living under a regime of violence and repression have picked up broadcasts of Galaxy Quest, and they aren’t aware that it’s fiction. They travel to Earth and encounter the Galaxy Quest cast, who figure that they’re just another bunch of guys who like to dress funny. However, they soon realize that they’re being hired not for another autograph-signing session but for a real-life outer space rescue mission. Galaxy Quest was directed by Dean Parisot, who had a background in TV directing before his theatrical debut with the dark comedy Home Fries. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (1981) $16.96 Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy began as a 1978 BBC radio series by Douglas Adams, who adapted the material into a bestselling novel in 1979. This six-part BBC television miniseries – a witty and farcical science-fiction send-up — stars Simon Jones as gormless Arthur Dent, who wakes up one morning to discover that a demolition crew is preparing to destroy his house and put in a new highway bypass. Saddened by this news, Arthur accepts the offer of his buddy Ford Prefect to head down to the local pub for a drink, but is soon greeted by Ford’s wild revelation that he is in fact not a human but a space alien from a small planet just outside of Betelgeuse, who has spent many years on the planet Earth in the guise of a human actor, doing background research for a book called ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.’ Before Arthur can fully digest this news, a Vogon spaceship appears in the sky and blasts out the message that the entire Earth will soon be destroyed to put in an intergalactic superhighway. At the last moment, Arthur and Ford manage to board the spaceship to escape obliteration themselves. Arthur is soon ensconced in a strange space vessel festooned with all manner of confusing hardware, and jets through a series of increasingly off-the-wall adventures, where he meets such wild characters as three-armed galaxy president Zaphod Beeblebrox; Trillian, the latter’s girlfriend; neurotic robot Marvin; and Veet Voojagig, a graduate student with a ballpoint pen fixation. Like Dr. Who and other BBC productions, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy took its US bow on PBS affiliate stations. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi |

Birdman and the Galaxy Trio – Complete Series $22.94 The Cartoon Network’s HARVEY BIRDMAN, ATTORNEY AT LAW is a popular spinoff from this Hanna-Barbera series, which originally aired in 1967. Each show focuses on the exploits of either Birdman, a government agent who fights evildoers with his super powers, or the Galaxy Trio, three aliens who battle crime in outer space. Birdman and the Galaxy Trio never appear in the same episodes together, making for an odd format. But the show triumphed, running on NBC for three successful seasons before coming to a close in 1969. This release is undoubtedly inspired by the success of the Cartoon Network’s postmodern rendering of the Harvey Birdman character, and is sure to delight cartoon enthusiasts. |

A Galaxy Far, Far Away $16.96 No other series of films has achieved greater commercial success, or captured the attention of as many viewers, as Star Wars, its two sequels, and the continuing series of prequels. Filmmaker Tariq Jalil had long been fascinated by the passionate following the films inspired, and when the publicity machine began rolling for the release of Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace in 1999, he assembled a camera crew to document the fans who waited in line (some for as long as a month and a half) in order to be among the first to see the long-awaited film on its first day of release. Along the way, Jalil also interviewed a number of other passionate Star Wars devotees, and the documentary A Galaxy Far, Far Away examines the cultural phenomenon of Star Wars fandom, from celebrities who stop by to see the film on opening weekend (including Samuel L. Jackson, Joe Pesci, Meat Loaf, and Roger Corman) to Star Wars-inspired rapper Jam Master Jedi and a number of rabid toy collectors who nearly riot while trying to get their hands on Episode I action figures. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

Galaxy Angel Z, Vol. 3: Stranded Without Dessert $25.48 Continuing its predecessor’s break-neck pace and sci-fi comedy, GALAXY ANGELS Z is the sequel to the original GALAXY ANGELS Animé series. The five Galaxy Angels–Forte, Mint, Vanilla, Ranpha, and Milfuelle–search the far reaches of outer space for ancient artifacts known as the Lost Technology. Traveling in their spaceship, named the Angel Frame, the Galaxy Angels end up causing endless trouble as they continue their quest. VOLUME THREE: ANGEL BUFFET contains 10 of the series’ short episodes. In these adventures, the Galaxy Angels have to contend with a bout of bad luck, take a side trip to go fishing, and discover they have been granted super powers. |
|
|
Galaxy Angel, Vol. 4: Save Room for More $25.48 Adventures with the GALAXY ANGELS always provide plenty of fun and excitement, and this fourth volume of their escapades is no exception. Ostensibly their job is to save the galaxy, but without the wherewithal to look after themselves, the group usually ends up arguing over pizza instead of fighting off evil doers. A hugely popular Anime title, this is a highly comedic look at the personal misdemeanors of some supposedly fearless protectors of the Universe! |

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005 / Widescreen) $8.49 Douglas Adams’ oft-adapted tale of an normal guy making his way through the universe (it’s already been presented as a novel, a radio serial, a television series, and a comic book) finally makes its way to the big screen in this endearingly goofy sci-fi comedy. Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) is a very ordinary man who is having a truly unusual day — after discovering that one of his best friends, Ford Prefect (Mos Def), is actually an alien, Ford tells him that the planet Earth is going to be destroyed so that otherworldly forces can make room for construction of a hyperspace bypass. Since Arthur accidentally saved Ford’s life years ago, Ford does him a favor — he first gets him a ride on a spaceship passing by, and then presents him with a guidebook that will tell a beginner everything he needs to know as he hitchhikes through outer space. Along the way, Arthur encounters such interstellar notables as sleazy Galaxy president Zaphod Beebelbrox (Sam Rockwell), the girl of his dreams Tricia McMillan (Zooey Deschanel), perpetually glum robot Marvin (voice of Alan Rickman), interplanetary construction magnate Slartibartfast (Bill Nighy), and cult leader Humma Kavula (John Malkovich). The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was the first feature film for Garth Jennings, previously best known for his work in television commercials and music videos; he was recommended to the producers by director Spike Jonze after Jonze had to turn down an offer to head up the project. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi Movie Guide |

A Galaxy Far, Far Away [10th Anniversary Special Edition] $10.16 No other series of films has achieved greater commercial success, or captured the attention of as many viewers, as Star Wars, its two sequels, and the continuing series of prequels.
